WOW!! Christmas was great again here at Rockland Ford. We had wonderful customers, nice weather,and of course our annual Christmas staff party! (No bail money necessary hehe). We hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas as well and truly appreciate the business all year.

2009 Demo Derby

Yahoooooo! OMG what a great time we had at this years Rockland Ford Demolition Derby. It was our 5th annual event and the crowds were awesome. The day was sunny and warm and the fans were plentiful and LOUD. Just the way we like 'em!!
The drivers were crazy and brave and definetly skillful. The pit crews got the cars ready for each round with such hard work and mechanical talent that we didn't have any hiccups with starting times for any of the rounds.
The vendors did a very brisk business and we thank them for working hard to keep the crowds bellies full and in timely manners so that there were no long waits. I don't think I've ever seen so many poutines served in one day. The pizza was terrific as well and everyone enjoyed a slice or two (Three for me hehehe).
The kids loved seeing the cars smash as much as us (supposed) grown ups. There were so so many faces that we recognized from our past events and many many new faces that we welcomed as well.
Thank you so much to all of our sponsors for without you we couldn't raise the money for the community that we do. It was a hard year on the economy but we still had many sponsors donate money and assistance so thank you again from all of us here.
Speaking of help.........Thanks to RDDHS and L'escale High School as well for helping get us excellent volunteer students. We had many young people help us out and stay late to help with the cleanup as well. Even though it was a gross nasty job to clean up all the garbage afterwards; I never received complaints from them and they were all mature in dealing with the crowds. There were a few standouts that were exceptional but everyone worked together to get eveything done.
Special thanks to Anthony Moreau-Kouleib, Cameron McManus, William Gavin, and Mitchell Lahey, who put in 4 days of work each to help get ready for this event so that you all could have fun.
I hope to have the final amount that we raised for the community soon but stay tuned and we'll get you that info.

Summer?

What happened? Did I pull a Rip Van Winkle or something? Last thing I know the snow was melting and people started walking around in light jackets instead of parkas. Guess what.......people are wearing jackets again already.
Well the good news is that the Fall brings out stunning colours in our surroundings and we spend more time indoors with each other. Whether at home or in the countless hockey rinks that we live our lives in, we find the colder temperatures end up making us get closer together.
I'm gonna start a new feature in my blog entries.
These are gonna be simple things to think about and discuss amongst your friends and family.
I'm just gonna call them "DAVE LOGIC" and they will appear at the end of my entries.

Football is in full swing and the NHL season is upon us!!!! So this time of year has it's upside as well.
Also the FAll specials here at Rockland Ford are tremendous.

Fall is upon us !!

The Kids are at school (YEAH!!) The weather is getting a little cooler (BOOO!) and the Fall car deals are here YAHOOO!! That also means that the 2009 ROCKLAND FORD DEMOLITION DERBY is coming up soon as well. This event is always alot of fun for everyone in the family and raises money for our community as well.
Please look for postings all over Rockland for the dates but the inside info tells me that it will be at the Jean-Marc Lalonde arena again on the 18th of October. Bring the kids, a seat cusion, and your best yelling voices 'cause the cars and crashes are loud. YEEEHAW!!
Tickets are only $8.00 advance or $10.00 at the door. Kids under 10yrs old are free. That's right, I said FREE!
Tickets will be available at Rockland Ford, Scotiabank Rockland, and Canadian Tire Rockland soon. We hope to see you all there to support local business' that support your kids with sports and social programs.
As far as new Car, Truck, SUV deals. Welllllllllll. That's another great story.
